Introducing the Manufacturers Hub RFQ Pay-As-You-Go Sub-Contract Work Section

At Manufacturers Hub, we’re always looking for innovative ways to support UK manufacturing businesses. Our latest addition, the RFQ Pay-As-You-Go Sub-Contract Work Section, is designed to create fairer opportunities for manufacturers while attracting high-quality work from businesses looking for reliable suppliers.

Phase One – A Growing System

This is Phase One of our RFQ system, and it will evolve as more supplier work becomes available. One major advantage of our platform is that suppliers can list their work for free, making Manufacturers Hub a more desirable platform to use compared to our competitors.

We may not have all the fancy bells and whistles that other platforms boast, but we truly care about our members' businesses. Our goal is to make this the No.1 platform in the UK for all things manufacturing, and we appreciate your patience as we build this into a game-changing opportunity for our valued Premium members!

How It Works

This service is exclusively available to Premium Members of Manufacturers Hub.

To ensure confidentiality and trust, all participating members must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between Manufacturers Hub and their business before engaging with the platform.

Key Information Required From Members

To enhance our platform and attract high-value work, we require members to provide essential details about their business, including:

  • Accreditation Information – Does your company have any accreditations? If so, we will need a copy of these documents as proof for our suppliers. Without these, you won't be able to bid on work that requires specific accreditations.

  • Use of Green Energy – Does your company have solar panels or other renewable energy sources? We will need evidence, either photographic or documented.

  • Automation Capabilities – Do you operate lights-out manufacturing with robot-assisted loading? We will need evidence of this!

These questions are crucial as they allow work suppliers to filter between the cheapest quote, the quickest turn-around, the cleanest quote, or the closest-to-home quote.

By incorporating these factors, we aim to attract businesses committed to reducing their carbon footprint while ensuring fair and competitive work allocation.

The RFQ Process

  1. Businesses seeking manufacturing services submit an RFQ.

  2. Interested suppliers place their bids.

  3. Once the bidding period closes, Manufacturers Hub manually selects the most suitable supplier based on the buyer’s specified preferences.

  4. The winning supplier is notified and provided with further details to proceed with the job.

  5. A small pay-as-you-go fee of approximately £15 per job is required from the selected manufacturer.

Why This Model?

We’ve carefully designed this pay-as-you-go approach for several reasons:

  • To prevent non-profit bidding – Ensuring manufacturers secure work at a fair price rather than unsustainable undercutting.

  • To avoid unfair monthly charges – Unlike traditional RFQ platforms that charge members even when no work is available, our system ensures you only pay when you secure a job.

  • To promote fair job distribution – All members will have a monthly limit on job allocations to prevent any single business from monopolizing work.

Our Mission

Manufacturers Hub is dedicated to seeing its members’ businesses thrive and grow. By implementing a fair and transparent RFQ system, we aim to provide genuine work opportunities without the pitfalls of conventional bidding platforms. This initiative ensures that businesses can secure profitable work while maintaining a sustainable and balanced marketplace for all.

We look forward to seeing our community benefit and succeed with this new system!
